Shooting for the Starts and Beyond!

Rebecca Pratt will be shooting for the stars this summer in Huntsville, Alabama. Rebecca has been selected to attend the Girl Scout Destination: Space Academy this June! The Girl Scout Destination: Space Academy offers opportunities for Girl Scouts to get firsthand experience in possible careers in aerospace science. Space explorations, science experiments, and an out-of-this-world experience, Rebecca is extremely excited about this great opportunity, “This is going to be an awesome trip,” stated Rebecca, 13.  We can’t wait for Rebecca to blast into this new and exciting mission!

Very active in Girl Scouts and her community, Rebecca has been a Girl Scout since 2005 and is currently a member of Troop 2322 in El Dorado, AR. She has attended resident camp at Crossed Arrows the last three years and has earned both her Bronze Award and Silver Award. Rebecca is an 8th grader at Barton Junior High School and has an ear for music and loves to volunteer. She plays the clarinet in the school band, as well as, the violin. She also helps out in the school’s café, “Bistro Café.” In her spare time she volunteers with numerous organizations such as “Parents’ Night Out” and “Upward Basketball”. Not only does she volunteer in her community, Rebecca also lends a helping hand with Children’s Church at First Baptist Church. Rebecca goes beyond the call of duty to help others in any way she can. She is definitely a shining example of Juliette Low’s mission for Girl Scouts!

Good Luck on your space mission Rebecca! We wish you safe travels and great opportunities! Are you interested in attending a Girl Scout Destination? Check out http://forgirls.girlscouts.org/travel/ for more information!
